Are You a True Animal Lover?

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE PETS, THIS IS A TRUE STORY. FOR THOSE THAT DON’T,

IT IS A TRUE STORY.

The following was found posted very low on a refrigerator door.

Dear Dogs and Cats: The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain

your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw

print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it

becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in

the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing me to

the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn’t help because I fall faster

than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about

this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your

comfort, however. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they

sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched

out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out on the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years – canine/feline attendance is not required.

The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go smell the other dog or cat’s butt. I cannot stress this enough. Finally, in fairness, dear pets, I have posted the following message on the front door:

TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:

  1. They live here. You don’t.
  2. If you don’t want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That’s why they call it ‘fur’-niture.
  3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
  4. To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don’t speak clearly.

Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:

  1. eat less,
  2. don’t ask for money all the time,
  3. are easier to train,
  4. normally come when called,
  5. never ask to drive the car,
  6. don’t smoke or drink,
  7. don’t want to wear your clothes,
  8. don’t have to buy the latest fashions,
  9. don’t need a gazillion dollars for college and
  10. if they get pregnant, you can sell their children …

Angel Dogs Foundation

Angel Dogs Foundation is a not-for-profit organization formed solely for the purpose of providing mobile spay/neuter and outreach/educational services to companion animal owners in The County of Los  Angeles and The County of Kern.

Having your cats and dogs spayed or neutered makes good sense  for you and the animals. Here’s some of what the HSUS has to say about spay-neuter: Four million cats and dogs about one every eight seconds are put down in U.S. shelters each year. Often these animals

are the offspring of cherished family pets, even purebreds. Spay/neuter is the only permanent, 100-percent effective method of birth control for dogs and cats and a proven way to reduce the vast numbers of

animals who are born only to die prematurely and without a family whol oves them. Learn more about why you should spay or neuter your pet.”

Angel Dogs also offer free micro chipping.  As a pet owner and a profession pet sitter,  I can’t talk enough about the importance of getting your pets micro chipped. For the people that say  “oh my pet Never goes outside”  As a Professional Pet Sitter, I have seen some strange accidents.

There was the time I was pet sitting two dogs, the night before there was a strong windstorm. I arrived the next morning to find the neighbors tree in the kitchen window and part of the tree had broken the back yard gate.Thank goodness the dogs where o.k. Lucky the dogs were still in the home.

Then there was the time i got a frantic call from a client  saying the house keepers let her dog and cat run out of the house, nether the dog or cat had a collar or tags on them and they were NOT micro chipped. We found the dog that day and the cat 3 day later. The cat was hiding out in the neighbor garage. That week she , got all of her pets Micro chipped, collars and tags

For the people that say ” oh i have a collar and tags on my pet”

That is a great start, but what happens if your dog that “never “gets out or never leaves the backyard, one day they decide to go off on a big adventure? because the pool guy doesn’t close the gate, or your child left the front door open, or your taking them for a walk and the leash breaks or they slip out of their collar?

The good thing is they have a collar and tags right? Until they go under something, over something, threw something and  leave their collar and tags behind? Now what?  You drive your neighborhood for hours calling the dogs name and  asking everyone you see have you seen my dog? Next you get the phone book out to start calling the Shelter,Vets offices,Pet stores. and you think to yourself ” oh they will be back soon”   as you watch the clock and wonder where they are.  If they were micro chipped and the shelter picked them up , you would have gotten a phone  saying we have your dog. IF they were micro chipped and a  someone found them, took them to a vets office, you would have gotten a call.

Did i mention Angel Dogs does ” FREE” micro chipping ?  So what are you waiting for? Check out Angle Dogs website:
